Daughter of Sparta by Claire M. Andrews.  Nonstop action, drama, and an unforgettable female warrior will keep readers turning pages in this reimagining of  the Greek myth of  Daphne and Apollo.

Remedy by Eireann Corrigan.  Fourteen-year-old Cara Wakely has been sick her entire life and has a rare autoimmune disease that prevents her from having a typical teenage life.

The Ghosts We Keep by Mason Deaver.  High school junior Liam Cooper’s life is falling apart in the aftermath of his brother Ethan’s death in a hit-and-run accident.

Every Body Shines edited by Cassandra Newbould. Whether they’re comfortable with their own bodies  or not, the fat characters in this anthology of YA stories know that society is definitively not OK with their size.

The Passing Playbook by Isaac Fitzsimons.  A teenage soccer star starting over at a new school finds love and courage as he takes the field to fight for his team and what he believes in.

We Are Inevitable by Gayle Forman.  Embittered in the wake of his older brother’s overdose and death as well as his mother’s abandonment, 19-year-old Aaron Stein feels like one of the doomed dinosaurs he obsessively reads about.

Nature of Witches by Rachel Griffin.  Weather witches  confront climate change in this fantasy.

The Ones We’re Meant to Find by Joan He.  An apocalyptic future tests the  bonds of love between sisters.In this future world.

Speak for Yourself by Lana Wood Johnson.  Teen coder Skylar gets distracted by romance in her bid to win an academic competition.

The Box in the Woods by Maureen Johnson.  After solving the greatest unsolved mystery of the century, Stevie Bell goes undercover as a camp counselor to investigate the strange going-ons at Camp Wonder Falls—the site of the infamous “Box in the Woods” murders.

Jay’s Gay Agenda by Jason June.  Jay, a gay  17-year-old, experiences a dramatic shift when his mother’s promotion to grocery store district manager transports their family from a small, not-very-diverse town in Eastern Washington to Seattle for his last year in high school.
