Black Was the Ink by Michelle Coles.  Malcolm has been sent to his family’s farm in Natchez, Mississippi, for the  summer following a traumatic interaction with the  police.

All of Us Villains by Amanda Foody and Christine Lynn Herman.   A bloody tournament will determine whose family controls the only high magick in the world.

Our Violent Ends by Chloe Gong.  New monsters terrorize Shanghai amid political upheaval and the reignition of the blood feud between the Chinese Scarlet Gang and the Russian White Flowers.  Second book in a series.

Gilded by Marissa Meyer.  Ordered by the king to spin straw into gold or be killed for telling falsehoods, Serilda, known for her fantastical tales, unwittingly summons a mysterious boy to help her–for a price.

Terciel and Elinor by Garth Nix.  Raised by Abhorsen Tizanael, Terciel  is resigned to a lonely life of servitude, believing that Abhorsens are too busy guarding Death to have a life. In Ancelstierre, Elinor  has been taught nothing of magic, believing her Charter Mark to be an unsightly forehead scar. The two meet when the Dead invade Elinor ’s country home.

In the Ballroom with the Candlestick by Diana Peteerfreund.  After a tragic accident at Blackbrook Academy kills one of their own, Orchid, Scarlett, Peacock, Mustard, and Plum are desperate to put the pieces back together and finish out the year.  A Clue mystery.

You Can Go Your Own Way by Eric Smith.  Trapped inside an arcade by a snowstorm, Adam, who is determined to save the arcade from Philadelphia’s newest tech mogul, and Whitney, the daughter of the tech mogul, find the tension between them turning into something else.

You’ve Reached Sam by Dustin Thao.  When Sam  dies in a car crash during his senior year of high school, his girlfriend, Julie, finds her life and the future plans they were supposed to share completely upended.

Briar Girls by Rebecca Kim Wells.  Born with a terrible curse, Lena travels through a treacherous, magical forest in search of freedom.

Rush of Wings by Laura E. Weymouth.  18-year-old Rowenna Winthrop must hone her untrained witchcraft to break the family curse conjured by a monster masquerading as her deceased mother.

Graphic Novels:

Himawari House by Harmony Becker.  Three foreign exchange students experience the pleasures, and difficulties, of adjusting to living in Japan.

Lifetime Passes by Terry Blas and Claudia Aguirre.  A group of teens starts a program to bring senior citizens to a local theme park to take advantage of the unofficial park policy: If someone dies on the property, the rest of their party is given lifetime passes!

Huda F Are You by Huda Fahmy.  When Egyptian American Huda and her family move to Dearborn, Michigan, she finds that suddenly she is far from being the only hijabi in her school. At a loss, Huda realizes that she has always adapted to accommodate others instead of finding her own interests.
