Mythology Quest

PANDORA'S BOX

According to ancient Greek mythology, Pandora, the first woman, was given a box from Zeus as a wedding gift.  Pandora was instructed to never open it.  But she was very curious and one day, when no one was looking, she snuck a peek inside.  As she lifted the lid, all of the evil, we know today, was released into the world.

During the Mythology Quest program (8/7), the participants were asked, "If you could put any evil back into Pandora's Box, what would it be?"  Here are their answers:

thunder, fire, mean-ness!, all bad things, Hydra, hunger, cancer, breaking books, breaking stuff, greed (2xs), spiders, bugs, failure, pirates, murdering people, bacteria, Algebra, stealing, homework, war

Interested in learning more about mythology?  Come to the library and look for stories from ancient Greece, Rome, Africa, China, Egypt, India, and Norse.  Both books and DVDs are available.
